Hand Portioner
Location: JUST Gainesville as of now
Job Type: [Full-Time] over 20+ job openings
Reports To: Production Supervisor / Line Manager (MOST LIKELY WILL BE 2ND SHIFT 4:00 PM -12:30PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable Hand Portioners to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, and preparing product portions by hand, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to company standards. This role is essential to maintaining smooth production operations and meeting customer satisfaction. (Most, if not all, will be filleting chicken breasts and sorting)
Must have reliable transportation
Key Responsibilities:
Will have 8 weeks for training, but we prefer that you already know what you are doing.
Accurately portion products by hand according to specified weights, measures, and recipes. MUST DO 80 LBS AN HOUR FOR BONE IN /////// MUST DO 60LBS AN HOUR FOR BONELESS (AFTER YOU MEET YOUR QUOTA YOU WILL GET AN INCENTIVE / BONUS FOR EVERY POUND AFTER QUOTA IS MET)
Inspect products for quality, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Operate hand tools, scales, and other portioning equipment safely and efficiently.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
Report any product defects, equipment issues, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
After 3 or so hours, you get a 10-minute break and for lunch you will get a 45-minute lunch. There is no cafeteria for the Gainesville location
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
MOSTLY SORTING AND CUTTING ( YOU WILL HAVE A STEEL MESH GLOVE SO YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO CUT YOURSELF)
Qualifications:
Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, or portioning is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, bending, and lifting (up to [insert weight, e.g., 25 lbs]).
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for accurate portioning.
Ability to work in a cold or refrigerated environment if applicable.
